At Thanet Lifeguard Club, we’re passionate about keeping our community safe in and around the water. Beyond our core lifeguarding activities, we actively engage with a wide range of local groups to promote lifesaving skills and water safety awareness.

Save a Baby
‘Save a Baby’s Life’ workshops aim to teach basic emergency skills to anyone who cares for a baby.
You will learn
Infant Basic Life Support (CPR)
How to manage an infant who is choking
Prevention and treatment of drowning in infants

Save a Child
‘Save a Child’s Life’ workshops teach those who care for a child and what to do in an emergency and equip them with basic first aid skills.

Save an Adult
‘Save a an Adult’s Life’ workshops teach local communities what to do in an emergency and equip them with the skills to help adults who have stopped breathing, are choking or have suffered a heart attack.

AED
AEDs are increasing in number with several available in communities for public uses. Save a Life AED workshops will give you the confidence to use this lifesaving equipment in the event of an emergency.

Drowning Prevention Week (DPW)
Thanet Lifeguard Club actively participates in Drowning Prevention Week (DPW), which is the Royal Life Saving Society UK's biggest annual campaigns.
This initiative specifically targets families, caregivers, educators, and instructors of children aged five to fifteen, with the objective of educating them about water safety

Don’t Drink and Drown
Thanet Lifeguard Club has held pop up events in local hospitality venues to promote the The Don't Drink and Drown campaign
This initiative is to encourages individuals to take responsibility for themselves and their friends when under the influence of alcohol and / or drugs, helping them to avoid dangerous routes by water and return home safely.
